I do feel that dusting has come a long way since I was dusting as a kid. My mom used to hand me the spray can of pledge and an old dish rag and tell me to get going. It sure did make things shiny and the smell wasn't half bad. Turns out, the chemicals in Pledge aren't so great. According to EWG's Guide to Healthy Cleaning , most of the dusting products rank at a C for moderate concern. Honestly, I don't think it did that great of a job for very dusty objects. Lots of lint and dust bunnies left behind. And have you ever accidentally sprayed dusting spray on a hard floor surface? Watch out!
Dusting took great strides with the invention of the magic static wants (Think Swiffer products). They truly locked away the dust and I still appreciate them, but sometimes they left a lot behind with big dusting jobs. I do still use the small dusters for quick jobs, but now, I reach for an even better dusting tool.
A few years ago, someone told me about Norwex products. I was initially turned off by the price, but after using a few products, I was hooked. The cost savings over time are what really count. I have been able to systematically remove chemicals from my home. I can dust with this mitt and use absolutely nothing else! This mitt picks up a lot of dust and has so many uses around the house. You can wash it over and over and it's just as good as the first time you use it.
I don't sell Norwex, but I wholeheartedly endorse it via my blog and page Home Ericanomics. At the time of this blog, I am offering a one week window to snag some Norwex via the HE Page. Please feel free to ask me any questions about these products. I will be featuring one cleaning job each day this week with a product I love!
Here is the shopping link for the dusting mitt! Happy dusting!
