Those Dirty, Dirty, Dishes...

Let me start off by saying I am so thankful for my dishwasher. I despise washing and drying dishes by hand and my poor dry hands despise it too. But lately, I've been having a love/hate relationship with having a dishwasher.

A while back we got on a good schedule of the kids helping empty the dishwasher. However, I am having an even harder time getting people to put their dishes in the dishwasher. There are always piles in the sink, even when the dishwasher is empty and eagerly awaiting dishes to go in!

I blame myself, really. I know I am not alone in my OCD dishwasher arranging ways. There are times I take almost everything out to rearrange it. I have to pre-rinse things. Maybe people have noticed this and just said, "Listen, this lady is crazy, just leave 'em in the sink".

But things have got to change! I am constantly putting dishes in OR answering the question, "Hey is the dishwasher clean or dirty?" Granted, we did have an issue with the filter and things were questionable after a cycle had run. I decided it was time to try the Clean/Dirty magnets. I've seen them and I never saw the importance. Seriously, just open it up and look.

However, I am willing to try something new. For goodness sake, just put your cups and silverware in at least! I know I'll still be in charge of the pans and kitchen gadgets that go in. I find it sort of funny, after one of the boys empties the dishwasher, I'll sometimes find a random pile of clean items. They just tell me they had no idea what they were or where they went!

So, I'm sure there will be a follow up to this blog. I just purchased the dishwasher magnet online tonight. In fact, you can get one for yourself here:
