I've not gotten too crazy with baked goods in the air fryer. I love it for frozen foods that cook up in a flash and for making homemade fries from raw potatoes (my favorite!). I recently saw a post from Pillsbury on air frying crescent rolls. So, I followed their recipe and sent it to the test kitchen. Here are the results!
First, I lined the air fry basket with parchment paper that had been sprayed with non stick spray. My initial thought was that the air wouldn't get to the bottom of the rolls. I spaced out all 8 rolls on the paper and put them in the air fryer on the air fry setting at 300 degrees for 5 minutes.
After three minutes, I could smell them and the tops looked very done. So I pulled them out and discovered they were not done on the bottom and even less done in the middle. I didn't want to waste the rolls or eat the dough, so we rolled the dice, flipped them over and tried another 3 minutes.
Results! 3 minutes, flip, 3 minutes yielded some perfectly done rolls! If I had another tube of dough I'd try it again without the parchment paper and risk it! My guess is that the dough sticks to the basket pretty bad. My opinion is that this is an excellent alternative to using the oven for 8 little rolls. And if your household likes these too, you may find yourself needing more in a snap. This is quick way to get more in a hurry!
Check out the video posted in facebook and let me know what you try! Here is the link to my air fryer, which I stand behind 100%! I did a lot of research on air fryers and this one is the best! Also, here is the link for more air fryer recipes for Pillsbury products!
